Silver Fern Farms proudly acknowledged Arohiwi Station in Hawke’s Bay for its outstanding achievements at the annual World Steak Challenge 2025.
Selected to represent Silver Fern Farms on the global stage, Arohiwi Station secured three medals in the prestigious international competition judged by over 60 experts against strict criteria.
Results:
- Silver – Beef Sirloin
- Silver – Beef Ribeye
- Bronze – Beef Eye Fillet
This recognition follows months of preparation. For three months all Silver Ferns Farms’ Beef EQ graders diligently searched for the highest marbled carcass to represent them. Arohiwi Station emerged as standout, producing the top carcass from a line of 100% G.A.P Angus cattle. This exceptional winning carcass was processed and graded at the Silver Fern Farms’ Pacific plant.
On 18 December 2025, Silver Fern Farms’ representatives Peter de Barre and Malcolm Gourlie and presented the awards to the Arohiwi team (Peter, Robbie, Sarah, Ben) at the station. Farm Manager Robbie Schaw was ecstatic and expressed pride in the result, noting it validates that his genetic breeding programme is meeting the requirements of our consumers.
