Child-centred and whānau-led

Family Works Hawke’s Bay is a Government-approved service specialising in working with tamariki and whānau in need of support. We are a team of social workers, counsellors, family violence specialists, and programme facilitators. Our child-centred and whānau-led services focus on working alongside you to help you meet your goals so your whānau is safe, secure and well.

Accessing our services

You can be referred to us by other agencies, or you can simply phone or call in and ask to talk to someone about your concerns and our services:

  • Social work
  • Counselling
  • Reducing family violence services
  • Parent education
  • School-based programmes

What happens next?

  • You will talk to a staff members about your worries, and we will help you to identify a pathway to bring about and support change
  • We will focus on the strengths and abilities you have in your kete, as these will be the tools you need to make changes
  • We will build on your whānau strengths by providing practical and emotional support and guidance
  • We can put immediate measures in place to keep you safe

Our staff are all qualified and registered in their area of work. They bring expertise as well as manaaki and aroha for your situation. They will work alongside you to help you achieve your goals.
