Who will your donation to the PSEC Foodbank help?

The families we work with may have faced violence, poverty, homelessness or prison. Every story is different, but they have something in common — they’re trying to change their lives for the better.

They pick themselves up every day in the face of mental and physical health challenges. They call on reserves of incredible courage. But let’s be very clear, many are at the beginning of a very hard road. Life is a challenge in a way that few of us have experienced.

Our clients have to make terrible choices every day between — for example — paying the doctor or buying food.

At PSEC we’re reminded every day that every one of us is potentially just a couple of traumatic life events away from being in a similar place.

What items do we need?

We welcome all good quality non-perishable items, for example, cans of corn, baked beans, spaghetti, tomato sauce, tea, coffee, sugar, sanitary products, soap: the basics.

Where can you find a PSEC Foodbank?

The Foodbanks are located inside PSEC Charity Shops at:

  • 14 Joll Road, Havelock North

  • Corner Gloucester & White Street, Taradale

  • 47 Carlyle Street, Napier

Please think about donating more — if you can.

Donations of these amounts will help provide social services including emergency food and grocery parcels, family counselling, parenting programmes, social workers and counsellors to support families making lasting changes. Donate today.
