Havelock North High School fundraise for Family Works

Havelock North High School organised a fundraising event for Family Works Hawke’s Bay, highlighting community spirit through a creative non-uniform day held on March 28, 2024. The theme of the day ‘Dress Up as Grandparents,’ adding a fun twist to the day.

Community leaders, Olivia Walter and Thomas O’Meara took charge of the preparations, designing posters and coordinating a gold coin collection.

‘It is crucial for our students to engage with and assist our community in creating positive change in the lives of others,’ says Deborah Taylor, Head of Science Department and Community Leaders, who emphasised the importance of teaching students to support initiatives and being aware of the vital services in our community.

Carlotta Bauer-Edwards, Service Manager at Family Works Hawke’s Bay, expressed gratitude for the funds raised, highlighting their impact in providing essential support to children and families. The money raised will address immediate needs within the local community.
