Independence, activities, and friendship for older people

Enliven in the community

Active, connected and social

Enliven’s community day programmes provide a friendly and supportive environment where you can connect with others and do the things you enjoy.

Enliven Older People is an approved Ministry of Health ad accredited ACC service. We offer activity and companionship programmes for older people living in their own homes or with family. For family carers, day programmes provide a chance to take a break. It’s also a great opportunity for older people living alone to enjoy quality social interactions.

Our Enliven Havelock North community day programmes run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and include:

  • Morning tea served with a delicious treat and/or lunch
  • Accredited falls prevention exercise classes
  • A range of exciting planned activities

Where to start

Love your strength

Falls are not a ‘normal’ part of ageing. As we grow older, underlying health conditions or problems with balance, strength or mobility do increase our risk of falling. Have you slipped, tripped or fallen in the last year, can’t get out of a chair without using your hands, or have avoided activities because you’re afraid you might lose your balance? Then you could be at risk of a fall.

The good news is many falls are preventable, so stay active, stay safe and don’t give in  to the fear of falling.

How you can support Enliven

Enliven aims to make the senior years positive and empowered, an age of rich experiences and social connection. Consider a career in aged care, volunteer with us or donate to our work.
