Inspiration – it’s a powerful thing.
The word comes from the Latin “inspirare,” meaning “to breathe into.” It’s that feeling that sparks new ideas, helps us solve tricky problems, and pushes us to do better, to take bold steps forward.
What inspires each of us is different.
Sometimes, it’s people who’ve faced challenges and come out the other side. They show us that if they can do it, we can too. Genuine, authentic people encourage us to be ourselves. Those with real passion make us feel more enthusiastic, and when someone has a clear vision for their life, it inspires us to follow their lead. Kindness and empathy show us the importance of caring for others, and people who bounce back after setbacks remind us that life goes on. And, of course, hard work and the success it brings is always motivating.
But the most inspiring people of all are those who leave a lasting positive impact on the world. They inspire not just while they’re here, but even after they’re gone, by showing us the power of making a difference every day.
At Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC), we’re inspired by our amazing staff and volunteers who bring passion, patience, and empathy to their work. The people in our local communities inspire us too – those who bravely overcome challenges and keep going no matter what. And we’re incredibly grateful for our supporters – local businesses, sponsors, partners, and funders who direct their resources to causes close to their hearts.
We are especially humbled by those who choose to leave a legacy by including PSEC in their Will. Their generosity ensures our work can continue long into the future. To all of you, we say a huge thank you. You inspire us every day to keep working towards positive social change.
