As part of being a sustainable organisation, Presbyterian Support East Coast is proud to operate two villages, JH Mason Village in Havelock North and Sheilton Village in Wairoa. Both villages offer rental accommodation for mature adults who can live independently. Any operating surplus from the villages is applied to our social service work, through Enliven and Family Works.
JH Mason Retirement Village
18 Durham Drive, Havelock North
JH Mason Village consists of predominantly rental properties intended for independent people. The grounds are spacious with established trees, gardens and lawns.
The Village has a tight-knit community that looks out for each other and there are many opportunities to socialise with residents, thanks to a thriving events calendar which is organised by the Village Coordinator. There is a library available and kitchen facilities.
A Village Community Centre is available for use by all residents for day-to-day activities. There is lounge seating for 12 people and dining seating, tables, crockery and cutlery for approximately 24-30 people. Friends and family are always welcome to visit too.
While there are no healthcare staff onsite, there is a welfare check done daily which incorporates the “I’m OK” card system.
104 Queen Street, Wairoa
Sheilton Village consists of 14 one and two-bedroom cottages.
Sheilton is a compact village close to the CBD in Wairoa and being able to walk to town is a bonus.
The cottages are suitable for singles or couples and the residents receive a regular welfare check by phone.
Sheilton also has a tight-knit community of residents who look out for each other. There is a free call number available for residents to communicate with PSEC.
