On 22 November 2023, around 200 PSEC staff from all services gathered at the Napier War Memorial Centre for the first-ever PSEC Staff Conference, marking our largest team meeting of the century. The event fostered connections and put faces to names, strengthening our sense of being one team united in helping people. Listening to PSEC staff suggestions in the 2023 staff survey, one of the outcomes was the creation of an all-staff event, which is how the conference came about.
During the day the PSEC Board Chair, Stuart Signal, and Patron, Maitland Manning, expressed gratitude and recognised our staff as the ‘engine room’ of the organisation. Special mention was made of staff dedication during the cyclone period this year, highlighting their commitment to serving clients, the community, and each other even though they had their own personal challenges. CEO, Sanja Majstorović, thanked each staff member for their hard work and commitment throughout a challenging year and acknowledged those who couldn’t be with us while they continued serving people. Guest speaker Te Radar encouraged reflection on those who contributed to our success and shared a humorous reminder to stay positive and not complain even in challenging situations.
A heartfelt thank you to PSEC staff for your dedication, loyalty, and contributions to PSEC’s mission. The staff conference was a day of inspiration, collaboration, and acknowledgment, and a time to stop and celebrate our success of supporting communities to reach their full potential, together.
