Service updates – Cyclone Gabrielle

UPDATE 24 February 2023
Our thoughts continue to be with everyone affected by Cyclone Gabrielle: staff, volunteers, clients, and wider community.

All services remain open except for Enliven Day Programmes.
Enliven Centre, Pakowhai Road
The Enliven Centre building on Pakowhai Road was flooded and is closed. Staff are providing essential service welfare checks to clients. The JH Mason building Day Programme team are looking forward to welcoming some of their clients back into their Havelock North building next week.

Enliven Disability – Residential, Taradale
Rowan’s buildings were flooded and some flatters are being accommodated in the main building.

Tairāwhiti Family Works
We are in contact with our Tairāwhiti team who are supporting their communities in challenging circumstances.

UPDATE 22 February 2023
Based on what we know 22 February 2023. All PSEC services are open and continue to support clients as best they can under the circumstances. The one exception is the Enliven Day Programme on Pakowhai Road, which is closed. Rowan House, Taradale – has had some water damage and some rooms have been affected but is open and supporting clients.
The Enliven Day Centre on Pakowhai is closed for now. Staff have been hard at work clearing the property and continue to do client welfare phone calls.

UPDATE 21 February 2023
Based on what we know 21 February 2023. Family Works Tairāwhiti is open from 9.00 am to 4.30pm. The team is contacting clients and supporting in the community. Tauawhi Men’s Centre have also opened their doors. Tauawhi Men’s Centre continue to support men and whānau, and are supporting community volunteers and community groups.
