2024 PSEC Annual General Meeting (AGM)
On 23rd October 2024, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Karamū Junction, Te Rae, in Hastings, with the theme ‘Communities reaching their potential.’ Both our Chairperson and CEO expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in helping PSEC achieve its goals for 2023/24.
We acknowledged the pivotal roles played by the PSEC Board of Governance, CEO, and the leadership from our professional staff and Exec and Senior teams. Our amazing volunteers, funders, individual donors, trusts, government agencies, and Presbyterian Parishes were all highlighted for their generosity and loyal support. Together, we’ve provided $15 million worth of social services and made a difference in our communities.
PSEC Board members and Patron Maitland Manning were re-elected. We welcomed two new PSEC Members Melanie Douglas and Korrin Barrett. We also recognised Hurford Parker Insurance Brokers for its outstanding efforts in managing insurance claims after Cyclone Gabrielle. Special mentions were made for the dedication from Arohiwi Station Ltd and The Scott Fund Trust.
Looking ahead, our Strategic Plan 2030 places a strong focus on investing further into disability services, with the construction of the new accessible Rowan Apartments now underway. We’re also proud to have disability advocate Korrin Barrett stay on as a Board Observer for a second year, and our commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles guiding our services.
We also reflected on the sad closure of our Tairāwhiti service after thirty years of service in the community and reaffirmed our commitment to finding new opportunities in the region—so watch this space!
Attendees were encouraged to support the Give a Brick fundraising campaign at www.giveabrick.org.nz to help build the new Rowan Apartments, and a better life for everyone in Hawke’s Bay.
